Hello all!

Ok, yes I'm very aware I've been absent from DA for quite a few weeks now. Where to even begin!

Some of you may be aware that I am pregnant, I am now at 32 weeks and whilst the baby is healthy there seems to have been a string of problems the process. I have developed Gestational Diabetes, this will go away after the baby is born but means I have to take my own bloods 4 times a day! I have to eat, fast for an hour then stab myself. Trying to do this around work is an absolute nightmare!

My needles and strips required for this process are on a prescription and guess what, they never gave me enough to see me through! My doctors isn't exactly on my doorstep so trying to pick it up each time is somewhat a struggle... The hospital is fortunately just around the corner from me so any appointments that I have (there are quite a few!) do not wear me out so much.

As previously mentioned, I am still slogging away at work. Up until the beginning of May I was still pushing 40 hours a week. I am a carer for elderly Dementia and end of life patients. This brings with it a lot of heavy lifting, aggression and heartbreak. I had an episode where a few weeks ago, the baby stopped moving for the entire day so I was taken into hospital to check he was ok. It was suggested I should try and cut back a bit. My hours then dropped to 32 a week. Thank godness after the 13th June I will have a bit of a break. The baby is due on the 29th July!

Last month I also had to attend the funeral of my best loved Grandad, who got very sick, very suddenly and passed away. This absolutely broke my heart and trying to deal with the grief of the situation, work and carry a child was a lot to bare. I was sleeping a lot, trying to deal with the pressure of it all.

I understand many of you may be a bit angry that I have not been consistant with running my DA groups but I'm sure you can understand that this has been a very stressful time for me. I will try my best to start clearing up the mess I have left and hopefully set things back on the right track.

Love to you all!
